He is Assistant Professor at ETH Zurich, and a research fellow at the Bocconi Centre for Applied Research on International Markets, Banking, Finance and Regulation (BAFFI CAREFIN). Davide received his BSc and MSc in Industrial Engineering and Management at the Polytechnic of Milan, and his PhD in Economics at Bocconi University in 2013. After the PhD, he joined the Department of Economics of the LMU University of Munich, and has been awarded the four-year Research Fellowship of the Excellence Initiative of the German Research Foundation. He has been visiting scholar at the Department of Economics at Harvard University (2012), London School of Economics (2017) and ETH Zurich (2018) and (2019). His research interests deal with the effect of international trade on labour market, income inequality, and firm performances; with particular focus on the adjustment dynamics following the implementation of trade policies. His current research projects investigate the effect of trade on the reallocation of workers among jobs; on individual welfare as opposed to aggregate gains from trade; on the allocation of capital across divisions of conglomerate firms.
